As a rule I am not a fan of recipes, particularly recipes that have more than five ingredients; but, today I found a great recipe that was successful for me and on such a rare occasion I felt I should share it. It does have six ingredients, but it is so good it is worth it.
– One optimistic painter
– One gallon of semi-gloss paint
– Paint supplies (rollers, brushes, masking tape, etc.)
– CD player
– Greatest hits CD from Motown
– One small room with no open windows
Combine all ingredients in small room (such as a bathroom) where all sound absorbing materials have been removed, close the door, turn on the Motown and allow optimistic painter to spend an hour or so at a time with the door closed while painting. After an hour remove optimistic painter who now is especially cheerful and thinks she missed her calling as one of the Temptations. There you have it – a newly painted bathroom, plus an afternoon of listening to a crazy out-of-tune woman belting out Motown hits with the mistaken impression that she sounds good (how great is that?).
I think I may enter this recipe in the Pillsbury Bake-Off. What do you think? A half-baked idea…ahhh, It was just my imagination, once again, running away with me…feel free to hum along.
