My trip to Cali this time has been a whirlwind. My primary purpose for being here was to attend my sister-in-law Narin’s baby shower. As you may recall she and my brother Jeff are anxiously awaiting the birth of Baby Rita who is due to arrive in another month. Narin’s baby shower was the shower of all showers, but I don’t have time to share all of that with you now as I am flying across country today and to fill you in with proper detail on my first Armenian baby shower requires photos and plenty of time as it was quite the event. I’ll hope to do that this upcoming week.
Even though my visit was so very short this time it was just what the doctor ordered. Time to visit with my brother, Narin and my nephews; an opportunity to meet Narin’s extended family; great Mexican food (the best flautas I have ever had at a restaurant with lovely ambiance – thank you Carmelita’s); Jill FM radio local and live; a trip to In-N-Out; and the relaxation of being out in the sunshine – what a charmed life I lead.
Today before I spend my day with an assortment of United Airlines employees I wanted to share with you something quick that I caught in their airline magazine on my flight to Cali. It was in an article about Anna Wintour, the Editor of Vogue (the subject of the movie The Devil Wears Prada). Wintour was asked, “What is the one accessory a young woman starting out in the world needs?” Wintour’s response – “Enthusiasm.”
Bravo Ms. Wintour – I think you nailed that! In fact I think it is a timeless accessory…I hope every woman from 18-80 wears it daily with flair. I’ll take mine with me today as I traipse across the country…and I think I will wear it well.
Day four hundred and forty-seven of the new forty – obla di obla da
