I have to send out props and much thanks to Innovis Hospital for taking such good care of my dad for the past week that he was there. It was a great relief to know that he was in such caring hands. In particular I want to thank the 4th floor nursing staff who were as delightful as the day is long.
My dad really enjoyed joking around with the nurses and he rated the care he got at Innovis as top-notch (and trust me, if it wasn’t he would say so); and, my family really appreciated how gracious and helpful the nurses were in regard to our questions and concerns. I personally loved that they gave my dad’s sense-of-humor a run for his money. Laughter is so important in our family and the nursing staff picked right up on that and factored that into my dad’s care.
Nursing is a tough occupation – the hours are long and the responsibility they bear is tremendous; to be able to deliver kindness, caring, patience, support and laughter in addition to all the other things they have to focus on is a really special talent that says a lot about what kind of human beings they are.
Thanks again Innovis staff for making my dad’s recent surgeries and hospital stay so bearable. My dad wanted me to likewise share his thanks to the nurses and doctors for his early parole for good behavior (as if he behaved…I bet the 4th floor is awfully quiet now that they sent their number one troublemaker home). 😉
Day five hundred of the new forty – obla di obla da
