The Focker report…be thankful.

Here is the Focker report for today:

All is well and I am happy – indeed, thankful – to report that so far I have not been the cause of any undue havoc (the emphasis is on “so far”).  Today we will partake in all things Thanksgiving with Mike’s parents, his sister Michelle, her husband Ed and their three adorable children – Emily, Abby and Colin.

On this day of thanks I remind myself of all the fabulous people in my life that I am thankful for – I live a charmed life.  Marcel Proust said,  “Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”

Yes, let us be grateful.  In a complicated world filled with so many uncertainties, let us remember that the beauty in life is sowed by the humanity we encounter in others.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours…and keep praying for Mike’s family as the weekend is far from over and the Focker label feels frighteningly comfortable. ;-)

About Ms. C

I teach at NDSU...but I remain a student of life with all the enthusiasm that entails. My favorite saying is, "Sometimes you have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down." In the new forty that is what I am doing...building my wings.

This post fits right in with something that I thought of a little while ago: What if, instead of being a guest today, you had been the hostess, with all the possible disasters that can happen in that role?
***I thought of that because my daughter and I (the Food-flogging Fockers) both had some brain glitches about the logistics of dinner prep this year. Thankfully, we are serving to just the people in our household (who have become accustomed to our occasional lapses and are very good sports).***
