Today, NDSU mourns the loss of four students killed in an automobile accident yesterday – Danielle Renninger, Jordan Playle, Lauren Peterson and Megan Sample.   The sudden loss of these four young women has been met by a wave of support from across the community and the state.  In such a trying time I am gratified that the families and friends of Danielle, Jordan, Lauren and Megan have such support.

There is a student-generated movement afoot to wear pink tomorrow (Wednesday) and purple on Thursday in remembrance of the four students lost in the accident.   The student community has been rallying together to find ways  in which they can support Danielle, Jordan, Lauren and Megan’s family and friends.  They are tapping into the strength of the herd and it is a formidable network.

I encourage you to wear pink on Wednesday and purple on Thursday as a statement of remembrance and in a show of solidarity.  And please do pray for the families and friends of these young ladies – the loss they have experienced is devastating.

About Ms. C

I teach at NDSU...but I remain a student of life with all the enthusiasm that entails. My favorite saying is, "Sometimes you have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down." In the new forty that is what I am doing...building my wings.
