Sharing Critical Intelligence…

Some days there are just so many things I would like to address in my blog that it is a struggle to pick just one.  This is one of those days.  It is hard to choose just one thing, but choose I must as I have other things to do this evening and I cannot go on and on for hours.  As such, I will save some of the other topics I am chomping at the bit to share for other days and today simply share my snarky commentary that I posted on my Facebook page in reaction to Wired’s article titled, “DHS Counterterror Centers Produce ‘a Bunch of Crap,’ Senate Finds.”

Hello, is this DHS?

Hi…this is Carol, Carol Cwiak, do you remember me?

I am the one who wouldn’t drink the kool-aid…the one who keeps saying that emergency management and homeland security are different – do you remember me now?

Okay, good.

It has come to my attention that the billions you have spent on homeland security haven’t really made the homeland more secure.

I would like to respectfully request a refund from DHS for the work that was not adequately completed…I think $250,000 a household is about right.

You can make my check to C-A-R-O-L C-W-I-A-K.

Oh, and be sure to note on the memo line the following: “This is for the bill of goods DHS sold the American people, but never delivered on.”

Is that all I need today?

Uh, no…one more thing.

Can you share some critical intelligence with the appropriate agencies in DHS?

You can?

Great! Please convey the following information – DHS sucks!

I thought that was fairly pertinent to improving the homeland’s security.

You are welcome – I do what I can.

I am, after all, an emergency management professional. 😉

Oh no, I am not at all bitter.  Can’t you tell?

Day one thousand one hundred and eighty-five 0f the new forty – obla di obla da
