The speed of construction…

Dear readers, I need your assistance.  I think I have observed a strange phenomenon this past week and I need to either get confirmation that my conclusion about this phenomenon is right on the money or way off the mark.

Here is the strange phenomenon I observed – the construction on Main Avenue suddenly seems to be moving  at a pace that is about five times faster than the pace at which it proceeded this summer.  My conclusion is that the little burst of snow we had last week motivated the construction company to pick up the pace and start working on the roads consistently with a group of workers who are all actually working on wrapping the project up.   Prior to that I would have sworn that they were trying to stretch out the job as long as humanly possible.  It seemed to me – a casualike a lot more standing around than working

Now, I acknowledge that I am no expert on construction – perhaps the same level of effort has been occurring day-in and day-out.  As such, I ask other folks who regularly drive down Main Avenue – what are your observations?  Do the road construction folks operate on varying speeds?

About Ms. C

I teach at NDSU...but I remain a student of life with all the enthusiasm that entails. My favorite saying is, "Sometimes you have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down." In the new forty that is what I am doing...building my wings.
