Delta made me giggle…

Delta has a new safety video.  I saw it for the first time on November 1, 2012 when I flew home from Orlando.  I love the new video and I think you will too.  It is filled with the standard information, but has humorous inserts throughout it which will keep you watching.  As far as airline safety videos go it absolutely gets a 10!

While searching for the YouTube posting of the video I learned that there are actually two versions of the video.  The second version has some subtle differences and is equally as fabulous as the first.

You may recall Delta’s old video with the redhead who used her finger-wagging to caution you to follow the rules.  It had some humor and was better than the standard fare, but it did not lean as far into humor as the new videos do.  Of note though, the redhead does have a cameo in the new videos which just makes them more delightful.

I really like Delta’s recognition that the humor makes the message easier to pay attention to and I audibly giggled while watching the video (as did others on the plane).  Watch the two new videos (video 1 and video 2) to see how to deliver a tired old message in a fresh new way. Accolades Delta on your new safety videos – you did a great job. ;-)

I teach at NDSU...but I remain a student of life with all the enthusiasm that entails. My favorite saying is, "Sometimes you have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down." In the new forty that is what I am doing...building my wings.

Those are hilarious Carol! New Zealand Air produced a safety video cross promoting the Hobbit (the video even stars Peter Jackson). http://www.youtube.com/user/airnewzealand/featured?v=cBlRbrB_Gnc
