Wag more. Bark less.

I came across a saying today that is destined to become one of my new favorite sayings – Wag more. Bark less.  It could not have come at a better time.  I have spent the entirety of the weekend indoors with Mike, Cheyenne, and the furry clan trying to reclaim order in the house after the big room move.  The whole process of purging, relocating, and re-purposing items started to get old about eight hours in.  I found my patience evaporating quickly.

Thankfully, God works in mysterious ways.  On a break I came upon a sign on Etsy.com that featured the above saying.  It caused me to stop my aimless scrolling and to reflect upon the meaning of the words.  Even though the message was couched in dog terminology, the meaning resonated with me.  I translated it from dog to human to be – Spend more time happy. Complain less.

I really have nothing to complain about.  We all worked toward a common goal this weekend, and as I sit at the end of the weekend I can report that we accomplished our mission.  I am happy…life is good.

Wag more. Bark less.  Yes indeed, that is the message I am embracing in 2013. ;-)

About Ms. C

I teach at NDSU...but I remain a student of life with all the enthusiasm that entails. My favorite saying is, "Sometimes you have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down." In the new forty that is what I am doing...building my wings.
