I could have lived my whole life happily without seeing this.

I get a lot of catalogs, both via the mail and email.  I recently received a link to the newest Lakeside Collection catalog.  I am always anxious to check out that catalog because it has such an eclectic collection of items in it – everything from jewelry to home improvement items.  I have purchased many things from them over the years.  I have also been a little amazed at some of the items they put in their catalog – amazed as in – what the heck were they thinking?

This recent catalog had an entry that gave me pause.  Indeed, the image has lingered in my mind since I laid eyes on it, despite how much I would love to forget it.  It is an image of a man in a onesie fleece footed pajama. I could have lived my whole life happily without seeing this, but once you’ve seen it – it cannot be un-seen.

Men's Fleece Footed Pajamas

Oh my.  This look just makes me think of that whole man baby phenomena that should not be spoken of in polite society.  In my estimation, there is no way to make this product acceptable – it does not matter how attractive the man is, how interesting the fabric print is, or how comfortable the pajama is – this is wrong and cannot be made right.

I am going to predict right now that this item will find its way to the clearance bin sooner rather than later.  I cannot believe that there is a robust market within their current catalog demographic for this item.  If I am wrong about this – well, don’t even tell me if I am wrong about this as I do not want to know.  Let me live peacefully in my own little world where fashion crimes like this are not tolerated.

Oh boy, Pajama Gram for men! We’ll just have to avert our eyes while this trial balloon runs out.

I’m assuming that they feature a ‘trapdoor’ seat–Ewww, cute on toddlers, not so much on men. I’m with Tim–we need to just avert our eyes for awhile! 😀
