Life advice…

In my travels on the internet I sometimes run across great stuff that I wasn’t looking for, but feel obliged to grab and share on my blog.  Such is the case with a heartwarming tribute comic strip created by cartoonist Gavin Aung Than to honor Bill Watterson the creator of the much beloved Calvin & Hobbes comic strip. The tribute strip is an homage by Than to both Watterson’s illustration style and his words.  The inspiration for the strip came from a commencement speech Watterson gave at Kenyon College in 1990.

Than notes that Watterson inspired him and influenced his career.  The admiration for Watterson is apparent in his tribute.  To read Than’s comments about what an honor it was to create this piece go to his site Zen Pencils.

Bravo Bill Watterson for the great message you delivered and thank you Gavin Than for bringing it to the attention of the masses.  I often say, do what you love and success will come.  Apparently, Bill has lived it. ;-)

About Ms. C

I teach at NDSU...but I remain a student of life with all the enthusiasm that entails. My favorite saying is, "Sometimes you have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down." In the new forty that is what I am doing...building my wings.
