Well, The Voice is back and I must say, I did not realize how much I missed the original panel of judges. The banter, the good-natured ribbing, and all the over-sized personality -intermixed with a ridiculous amount of talent and dreams waiting to be realized. The fall television season has arrived in earnest.
Now, don’t get me wrong – I liked Usher and Shakira as judges. They were nice and had their moments, but they left most of the battling to Adam Levine and Blake Shelton who anchored the show for loyal viewers. The edge that is achieved when all four of the original judges are together is so much more dynamic and interesting. You would have never convinced me at the outset of Season 1 that Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, and Adam Levine were going to have chemistry, but the proof is in the pudding. And when you add as the host the absolutely adorable Carson Daly – who is every contestant’s biggest cheerleader – I have to say you have exactly the right mix for must see TV.
Already I am loving the eclectic mix of singers that are populating the show and it is just the first episode of the blind auditions. It is going to be a wild season on The Voice – may the best man or woman win. As for the viewers – they win every single time they tune in.
