Well-done Grand Forks!

There is good news coming out of Grand Forks today.  Last evening the Grand Forks City Council led the State of North Dakota into the 21st Century when it voted to ban housing discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.  That is pretty big news for our state.

Well, let me be one of the first to say – well-done Grand Forks!  And what perfect timing too – in October – LGBT History Month.  That is the icing on the cake.

Thank you to the five (out of seven) City Council members who took a stand for equality last night.  This is a law that has been long in the coming for those who have suffered with discrimination.  It gives me hope for the future of North Dakota. I can see the faint glimmer of a rainbow on the horizon and it is a beautiful sight to behold my friends. ;-)

About Ms. C

I teach at NDSU...but I remain a student of life with all the enthusiasm that entails. My favorite saying is, "Sometimes you have to take the leap and build your wings on the way down." In the new forty that is what I am doing...building my wings.

IT will be interesting to see how much it costs Grand Forks to defend this redundant ordinance. OR even how often it is used. Seems like clutter to me.
