Jeans – $1.99.

I ran to Sunmart near my house on the way to work on Friday to pick up a couple of things quickly.  In the process of waiting in line I saw something curious – something that caught my eye.  The something that caught my eye was a table stacked with jeans on the main aisle walkway that runs between the registers and the store aisles.  The table had a sign that read - Jeans $1.99.

It seemed so random and out of place.  Since when did Sunmart start selling jeans?  Even though I was in a hurry I had to take the time to snap a photo of this peculiarity. Folks in the near vicinity looked at me as if I was a bit of a fruit loop.  That made me wonder whether they found the jean table perfectly normal or just my photo taking of the jean table particularly odd.

If I had more time that morning I would have perused the jeans so that I could report on what $1.99 gets you in the jean market.  Unfortunately, I was in quite the hurry.  I didn’t even have time to ask the cashier why jeans were now available at my local Sunmart.

But never fear – I will ask when I next go to Sunmart because I really want to know how the jean table found a place there.  These are the kinds of silly little things that intrigue me.  I know that 99% of the other folks that passed by the jean table likely did so without another thought…but not me.  I am in the 1% of the population that ponders the peculiarity of such things.  I am the goober who will make the effort to ask why it is there and solicit the whole story just for my own information.  Well, for your information too…because seriously, now that you have thought about it, aren’t you the least bit curious about why Sunmart has $1.99 jeans? ;-)
