The older I get the more I invest in face lotions and potions. For about the last ten years I have been a faithful user of Philosophy’s Hope line. In particular I regularly used Hope in a Jar and When Hope is Not Enough. You would think that using a facial serum that acknowledges that you are beyond hope would dissuade women from using it. Au contraire! An unappealing name fades into the background if the product works.
The past couple of years I have been hearing about a new product in the Philosophy line. At first I paid it no mind, but as each year passed I found my remaining hope dwindling. That was when I decided that it was time for a little bit of Miracle Worker.
Miracle Worker is what Philosophy bills as its “miraculous anti-aging moisturizer” – it is the next step for those of us who have lost hope as they have gained wrinkles. I have come to the place beyond hope and it requires a miracle. A miracle for my face. It sounds wrong, but if the product works – if it produces a miracle – I can get past the name.
And there you have it folks – from Hope to Hope is Not Enough to Miracle Worker. What is next from Philosophy for me – Crypt Keeper? I would laugh at that if it was inconceivable, but it is not knowing the beauty industry. The fact is, if the stuff works I will use it no matter what the name is. If I am blessed by a miracle – as promised by my current moisturizer – my days of seeking more intensive aging products may be at an end. I am not holding my breath on that one though – even wrinkles are preferable to being blue. 😉
