What is it about spring that incites a need to clean and purge? Do we really accumulate additional stuff and wallow in it all winter long? Or is this spring cleaning merely a psychological lightening of ourselves in preparation for the airiness of the upcoming season?
I wonder if we are hardwired to do such things? Or perhaps we are hardwired to feel like we should do such things…doing them may be a whole different story. I know that I start to think about spring cleaning this time of year, but I cannot say that I always do it. Housework is one thing, but purposeful purging – well, that is another thing.
But still I see things that offer suggestions or techniques and I gravitate toward them. I want to start my spring off lighter, I really do, but mostly all I do is collect purge articles and add them to my stuff. I do not think that is how one does effective purging. Every year, I tell myself that I will do better next year.
Tonight, I offer you the 21 day organization challenge – one chore a day for 21 days. If you start straight away you will be done before the end of April. On the 22nd day you can throw out the 21 day organization challenge list. And if all you do is throw out the list at the end of the 22nd day, don’t dismay – there is always next year.
